I’m Melissa Reyes, and I’m not a social media expert. (I guess you probably got that from the site name. Duh.)

I am, however, a social media manager and enthusiast with a background in marketing, graphic design and editing. I love social media, and it is what I do all day every day. But no matter how active I am, how many articles I read, how many conferences I attend, I am still learning and growing. I am still a social amateur. And that’s ok.

Social Amateur is a pace to learn, to share my journey, pass along tips I’ve learned and talk with small business owners and marketers about all things social.

As I said, my background is in graphic design, copy writing and marketing. I have been fortunate to work with amazing and extremely creative minds, in both major companies and small businesses, over the past 10 years. From large sports franchises and major medical centers to small local start-ups and independent contractors, I have helped businesses build their brands, connect with their clients and succeed, even in challenging markets.
